The Supreme Court of Preparatory Investigation denied the request for legal protection requested by the congressman of the Republic, Freddy Díaz Monago, after being accused of the alleged crime of rape against a Parliament worker. This request tried to exclude witness statements that could exist against the parliamentarian.

This afternoon, the judge John Charles Checkley made the decision for the Public ministry continue with the preliminary investigation. This was announced by the Judiciary through its Twitter account. It should be remembered that Díaz Monago has a impediment to leave the country for nine months.

For his part, the official has continued to work in the same office where the violation occurred. In this sense, the Ethics Commission of the Congress of the Republic is preparing a report to suspend him from his duties, which would take about a month, so the final report will be presented on August 31 and a decision will be made.
