Brussels, Aug 17 The gross domestic product (GDP) of both the eurozone and the European Union expanded by 0.6% in the second quarter of this year compared to the previous quarter, according to data published this Wednesday by the Eurostat community statistics office. .

The new Eurostat calculation for the euro zone is one tenth less than what was advanced in the preliminary estimate of 0.7% revealed at the end of July, but the figure does not change in the case of the block as a whole.

Thus, the growth of economic activity in the EU remains stable when compared to the increase observed between January and March of this year and accelerates one tenth in the countries of the common currency, which registered an expansion of 0.5% in the first three months of 2022.
