The preliminary detention of President Pedro Castillo’s sister-in-law will not be changed, Yenifer Paredesdespite being diagnosed with the virus COVID-19. Regarding the state of health of the president’s putative daughter, he indicated that “she has mild symptoms and her health is stable” and that “the Public ministry has ordered that preventive measures be taken to safeguard the health and physical integrity of the intervened”.

In this line, Justiniano Romero advanced that Yenifer Paredes will be taken to an isolated environment and duly guarded so that they receive medical care for the case, prior coordination with personnel from the National Police.

As it is recalled, after having surrendered to justice, Paredes was subjected, as part of the legal process, to a series of medical examinations to verify her current state of health.

During these tests, according to the lawyer Joseph Dionysus, He was also ruled out of COVID-19 with the swab modality, which gave a positive result.

“The doctors on duty who have come to check on her have given her a swab test and she has tested positive for COVID,” explained the lawyer.

On the other hand, in brief statements to the press, Dionisio revealed that he filed an appeal regarding the 15-day detention imposed on the first lady’s sister.

“This request was made before knowing the results of the covid test, because we are now evaluating another request to obtain his release due to his health situation,” he explained.

“I think that for any person it is valid (to prioritize health). In addition, from the point of view of technical defense, the resolution executed against my client violates due process and is not reasonable or proportional, “added the lawyer.
