Indecopi urges airlines to reschedule flights or refund ticket money


The National Institute for the Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property (Indecopi) ruled on the maintenance work to be carried out Lima Airport Partners (LAP) on the runway of the Jorge Chavez International Airport from next August 29 to October 29, between 2 am to 5 am

Likewise, he mentioned that in the case of users who have problems with the rescheduling of flights or cancellations during said period, airlines must “provide the available channels and facilities so that they can carry out the corresponding rescheduling or access the reimbursement of the net value of the ticketif requested by the user, as long as the execution of the flight is not useful to him”.

In that sense, Indecopi He specified that it is necessary for airlines to keep their service channels active, so that users can access truthful, easily understood, timely and accessible information that allows them, if applicable, to formulate their complaints or claims before the inconveniences that have arisen.

On the other hand, the supervisory body also addressed the tourist services that users have purchased. He called on companies to grant facilities to consumers who had scheduled activities, which could not be carried out under the initially agreed conditions due to this problem.
