The Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD) presented Omar Ortega like your profile for contend for the governorship of Mexico state in the elections 2023; however, he did not rule out continuing to participate in the elections with the Va por México coalition -formed alongside the National Action Party (PAN) and the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI)-.

Through a press conference, Jesús Zambrano Grijalva, national president of Sol Azteca, announced that it will be the next saturday august 13 -at 11:00 a.m. (Central Mexico time), from the Morelos Theater in Toluca – to be officially announced to Ortega Alvarez as State Coordinator of the social democratic agenda.

Despite presenting the person who will be the face of the party in the next Mexican elections, Ortega Grijalva made it clear that his party remains open to participating in democratic processes hand in hand with the coalition.

“In the PRD we are open to building an alliance and to the formation of a coalition government in the State of Mexico by 2023, for this reason, we appointed Jesús Ortega as state coordinator”, explained the leader this Wednesday, August 10.

However, whether the path for Sol Azteca is alone or in a partisan group with the opposition bloc to the government of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), the PRD reiterated the idea of form a Citizen Council to be in charge of the election of the candidate for governor of the entity, so that in the future the idea of ​​coalition governments can be consolidated.

“We declare ourselves open to an electoral political coalition, as broad as possible. We reiterate our position that the respective laws be modified to guarantee coalition governments. We are confident that in the State of Mexico we are going to arrest Morena! said the former federal deputy.

Finally, Jesús Zambrano publicly summoned the parties that coincide with the interest of moving forward, that is, contrary to the Fourth Transformation, that, in the possibility of forming an electoral coalition, a political table be installed in which the proposals of the PRD in order to guarantee the alliance and a coalition government.

For his part, the person chosen for the elections, Omar Ortega Álvarez, said ready to face the new political challenge that he has in front of him, for which he thanked the trust of the leadership and sentenced that the Mexican entity will have a new dawn.

According to his profile as a federal legislator from 2015 to 2018, the former deputy was born in Ciudad Guzmán, Jalisco; however, his political career has been developed in the State of Mexico since joined Sol Azteca in 1995.

As part of the Mexican structure, he has developed as a representative of his party in the Local Board of the Federal Electoral Institute (IFE), Secretary of Organization of the State Executive Committee, federal deputy of the LIX Legislature (2003-2006), Secretary of Organization of the National Executive Committee of the PRD (2012-2014), President of the State Executive Committee of Edomex (2014-2015), federal deputy of the LXIII Legislature (2015-2018) and, finally, local deputy in the LX Legislature of the State of Mexico from 2018-2021.
