The City Police arrested this Thursday night the three suspects of being responsible for the death of Carlos Fernández, the man who was murdered on July 25 on public roads in front of his wife after resisting an assault and struggling with criminals in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Nueva Pompeya.

The arrests occurred after an exhaustive investigation carried out by personnel from the Homicide Division of the City Police, under the orders of the prosecutor Laura Belloquiin which Security cameras were checked and the vehicle in which the perpetrators were traveling was identified.

Then, with the authorization of the National Criminal and Correctional Court No. 54 under the responsibility of Sánchez Sarmiento, investigative tasks were carried out to find the whereabouts of those responsible for the act, also using the intervention of telephone lines, analysis of social networks and field tasks.

In this way, with the information collected, the raids that were carried out last night in three homes were authorized: two in the City of Buenos Aires and the rest in the “Candil Foundation”, located in Pilar, province of Buenos Aires.

Carlos Fernández was murdered on July 25 when he accompanied his partner to the bus stop located on Sáenz Avenue. There they were approached by an armed man to steal their belongings, and who, seeing that the couple resisted, He fired five shots, one of which hit the victim’s head, killing him instantly.

The incident occurred on the block of Uspallata Street at 2700, six from the seat of the Buenos Aires government. Police personnel from the 4B Neighborhood Police Station were alerted by neighbors that detonations of firearms had been heard in that place.

When they went, the City Police personnel found the victim on the ground, with at least one gunshot wound, and his wife beside him, desperately asking for help.

The woman explained to the Police that at least two criminals approached them in the middle of the street to rob them. She said that her husband tried to resist the robbery and that in the middle of the struggle one of the robbers shot him. In the following moments, Once Fernández fell to the ground injured, the thieves immediately escaped aboard the Peugeot Partner.

Patricia, the widow, spoke to the media in the area where the attack occurred and stated that the attack occurred when she was on her way to work at the Military Hospital.

According to Patricia, they both raised a 13-year-old daughter named Milagros. Also, Carlos Fernández worked for a moving company and also sold garlic.

After the arrest of the three murderers became known, the Minister of Justice and Security of the City of Buenos Aires, Marcelo D’alessandro, stated: “In the City we are not going to leave criminals unpunished. We promised the family that Carlos’ killers would pay for what they did and today these criminals are behind bars.”
